The Secret Life of Bees will be the subject of discussion of the Book Group at North Northfield United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 5 at 10 a.m.

In her debut novel, Sue Monk Kidd wraps a coming-of-age tale around a search for one’s mother, plunks it down into the racially-charged South Carolina during the civil rights movement and sets it all alight with a dose of feminine spirituality, according to a review at About.com.
