The Last Lecture will be the subject of discussion of the Book Group at North Northfield United Methodist Church on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m.
This book by the late Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was inspired by a lecture he gave after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. But the lecture he gave — “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams” — wasn’t about dying, according to the book’s web site. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, and of seizing every moment — it was about living.
The public is invited to attend the event, which will be held at the church, located at Sanders and Dundee in Northbrook. For more information, call the church office at (847) 272-2250 or visit the church website at www.northnorthfield.org.
