“Enjoying Life: Interesting Things To Do” will be presented by Emily Dupree at the next Caregiver Educational Support Group meeting. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 17, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Warren Township Senior Center, 17801 W. Washington Street in Gurnee. Sponsored by the Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center, the meeting is free and any caregiver is welcome to attend.
Dupree will share ideas on enjoyable ways to spend time when a caregiver’s tasks are complete. Giving meaning to each day makes life more enjoyable both for the caregiver and for the person receiving care. The group will discuss how to create a pleasant environment and fun things to do each day.
Dupree worked as an activity aid at Arbor View Nursing Home in Zion for over 20 years and has continued to volunteer her time to Arbor View residents following her retirement three years ago. She decorates for each holiday and finds a wide variety of things to do to keep people engaged and provide meaning and fun in their lives.
