Independence Grove Forest Preserve in Libertyville saw a massive influx of happy faces June 11, most of them fitting the "55 or better" age group.

The Deerfield Fine Arts Festival held May 31 and June 1 in Jewett Park, gave artists from local communities and across the country a chance to display their work to the public.

Kids were invited to spend some time May 2 at Northbrook Court helping construct pieces of a giant R2D2 Lego model that will displayed in the mall. The event will continue until 5 p.m. on May 4.

The typical images one associates with the term "homeless shelter" are far from the truth found at Lake County Haven.
