Area athletes gathered at the newly renovated Deerspring Pool early June 14 for the Tinman Triathlon, sponsored by the Deerfield Park District and COHO Swim Team.

With paddles and canoes strapped to the tops of their cars, people from all over the country and all corners of Illinois headed to the Oak Spring Road Canoe Launch in Libertyville, Ill. for the 51st Annual Des Plaines River Canoe Marathon.

The Deerfield Park District hosted a mother/son sports night event on Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. Dressed in their favorite sports gear, moms and sons enjoyed a night of musical entertainment, relay races, sports trivia and treats.

Deerfield School districts called off school on Dec. 5 for local elementary, junior high and high schools due to the five to six inches of snow the area received in the Dec. 4 storm.

Deerfield High School students gathered in the gymnasium on Sept. 28 to rally for the next day's homecoming football game. Students donned their designated class colors and enjoyed entertainment from cheerleaders and the dance squad.
