Annual SWING Golf Outing to benefit NSSRA

Northern Suburban Special Recreation Foundation to host Annual SWING Golf Outing to benefit the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association

Northbrook, IL – On Friday, September 19, the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Foundation (NSSRF) will host the Annual SWING Golf Outing at the Glenview Park Golf Club at 800 Shermer Road, Glenview. Event sponsors include The Connelly Foundation, Harris Bank and Quaker Foods and Snacks.

The event will benefit the Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA), NSSRA NSSRA provides year-round recreation and leisure opportunities for people with disabilities. With almost 40 years of serving the community, NSSRA was the first "special recreation" association in Illinois and among the first of its kind in the country.

Participants include adults and children with mental, physical, emotional or other disabilities, visual impairments or behavior disorders, as well as individuals who are on the autism spectrum, who are deaf or hard of hearing or have debilitating conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis or Alzheimer's Disease. The SWING Golf Outing is a four-person scramble, with prizes, raffles and many on-course contests.

Registration and breakfast begins at 7:30am, followed by an 8:30am shotgun start. The lunch, awards and raffle will begin at 1 p.m. Early registration is recommended. The event is $175 per golfer.
