WilPower Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center is a not-for-profit community-based organization in Northfield. Joining the fair were artists were from Main Center in Des Plaines, Independence Center in Waukegan and Trilogy in Rogers Park.
Gail Fried, WilPower's art therapist said a group of around 14 people met three times a week for the past year to work on various art projects of their choosing. Each year at the show, artists can display their work and sell pieces for a profit.
"They have been working freely during meeting time and on their own for the past year to create these pieces," she said. "It's a non-judgemental atmosphere and they can work on whatever they want. There is some great work here."
Eva Klich, program director for WilPower said the fair was a way to celebrate the artists efforts.
"It's a little bit of everything, and we really look forward to this event every year," Klich said.
