Holiday Events
Please join in the festivities in downtown Glencoe during the month of December. The following events are currently scheduled:
Saturdays, December 6th, 13th and 20th
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Harris Bank will sponsor carriage rides and hold a holiday open house with continental breakfast.
10:00 a.m.-2:00p.m. – The Salvation Army Metro Youth Band will perform Holiday music in the downtown area.
9:30a.m.-12:30p.m. – North Shore Community Bank will provide hot chocolate.
Shop Downtown Glencoe
‘Tis the season… to take advantage of wonderful shops in Glencoe! Shopping local is convenient, our merchants are friendly and knowledgeable, and your dollars contribute to the continued success of our local businesses. The vitality of the business community, during the holiday season and throughout the year, is an important priority of both the Village and the Chamber of Commerce.
Santa’s Return Visit
Santa will stroll the downtown area on December 13th from 1-2:45pm.
Kids Holiday Card Shop
Children can drop in at the Glencoe Public Library on December 13th between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm for Holiday card making.
Celebrating Chanukah
Rena Sternberg Gallery, 378 Park Avenue, will be hosting a special Chanukah Art Program for children on Saturday, December 20th from 10:00-11:30a.m. Reservations are not required, but are appreciated. You can RSVP to the Rena Sternberg Gallery at 847-835-0202.
Writers’ Theatre Presents – A Christmas Carol
Writers’ Theatre is celebrating the 13th anniversary of A Christmas Carol running from December 13-23 at 325 Tudor Court. Join Artistic Director Michael Halberstam as he masterfully recreates Dickens’ classic holiday tale. For more information and tickets, go to www.writerstheatre.org.
