
Music fans won't have to dole out cash in order to enjoy a night of songs under the stars or toe-tapping tunes. Many area villages are providing all types of music, from pop to classical and rock to disco, for free all summer long.
In Glencoe, there are concerts in the park and several live music series at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
Once a month, residents are invited to Concerts in the Park at Kalk Park, Park Avenue and Green Bay Road.

The concerts run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For rain information call the Special Events Hotline after 5 p.m. on the day of the concert at 847-835-7970.
Monday nights at the Chicago Botanic Garden are the Carillon Concerts. Musicians from around the world will play the bells at the garden beginning at 7 p.m. and will play for 45 minutes.

On Tuesdays, the garden hosts Music on the Esplanade from 6 to 9 p.m. During these concerts, listeners are allowed to bring picnics.

On the third Wednesday June through August, children's entertainers will perform two shows, at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., for the Dancin' Sprouts music series on the Esplanade at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
