History of North Shore equal housing
The History of Equal Housing in the Northern Suburbs.

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, the Highland Park Public Library is hosting a new exhibit, "The History of Equal Housing in the Northern Suburbs."

Presented by the Interfaith Housing Center of the Northern Suburbs, the exhibit is a timeline of news stories, photos, and historical references that illustrates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s pronouncements about equal housing and the struggles of north suburban neighborhoods to confront discriminatory housing practices.

The exhibit will be on display in the library's adult services room through Jan. 31, along with a display of works on the subject available for checkout.
