A group of more than 150 kids got a chance to show off their speed at the Flying Feet Kids Fun Run in Glenview July 26.

Area athletes gathered at the newly renovated Deerspring Pool early June 14 for the Tinman Triathlon, sponsored by the Deerfield Park District and COHO Swim Team.

With paddles and canoes strapped to the tops of their cars, people from all over the country and all corners of Illinois headed to the Oak Spring Road Canoe Launch in Libertyville, Ill. for the 51st Annual Des Plaines River Canoe Marathon.

Deerfield School districts called off school on Dec. 5 for local elementary, junior high and high schools due to the five to six inches of snow the area received in the Dec. 4 storm.

Hundreds of cyclists came from around the North Shore and the Midwest to compete in the first annual Glencoe Grand Prix was held Aug. 26. The bike races, called criteriums, began bright and early at 8 a.m. and went on nonstop throughout the day.
