The other day while heading home from the dog park with Jack, I stepped off a high curb and heard a peculiar noise.
A recent “Fox Trot” took me, my 16-year-old son Charlie and his friend Chris, to the Machine Gun Shoot and Military Gun Show at Knob Creek Gun Range in Westpoint, Ky. on April 14.
Like a lot of boys, Charlie’s always had an interest in guns. The event has been featured on The History Channel’s “Mail Call” program. I had heard of the event and it sounded like an interesting way to spend a weekend with my son.
The Cubs opened their season at Wrigley Field April 9 and they are already off to a great start. I’m being facetious to say the least. I mean, according to the stats they are 3-3 (they haven’t finished today’s game yet, but right now they are losing 3-2 in the bottom of the 6th – whoa they just tied it in the top of the 7th. Argh, now they're down 5-3.) For Cubs fans each passing season can be filled with angst. How to go on and face another year waiting, hoping that this might be the year they make it all the way. It's kind of a twisted existence to root for the lovable losers.
