From a Group Study Exchange/Rotary International press release:
The Northbrook Rotary Club is seeking four qualified applicants to become members of this year’s outbound Group Study Exchange team to New Zealand. Group Study Exchange (GSE) is a Rotary International program, developed to encourage vocational and cultural exchanges in the business and professional world, while becoming ambassadors of good will.
Applicants must fulfill all of these qualifications to be eligible for consideration:
1. Currently be full time employees, who have worked for at least two years, in a recognized business or profession.
2. Be 25 to 40 years of age (at time of application).
3. Work or live within the District 6440 boundaries.
4. Be a United States Citizen.
5. Not be a Rotarian.
6. Not be a lineal descendant of a Rotarian.
7. Not be a spouse of another team member.
8. Not be a former Rotarian, or descendant of a former Rotarian, within the last 36 months (at time of application).
9. Have written permission of their employer.
The Rotary Foundation will pay the travel expenses and the local clubs will cover the home stays. The cost to the team members will be the time away from work and home and any incidentals they choose to purchase along the way including personal presents for their hosts.
All applications must be submitted by Aug. 11, 2008 for interviews. The Rotary International Web site has online information available at www.Rotary.org under GSE Publications.
