The Vernon Hills Park District invited adults and children to an afternoon of kite flying at Century Park on April 26 for a "Let's Go Fly a Kite" event.

Over a dozen families came to the event, which began at 11 a.m. to watch their kites soar through the skies. For an especially windy day, with winds blowing at 20 to 30 miles per hour, kites soared high.
