The North Shore Harmonizers welcomed guests and new members to their Sept. 25 practice, held from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church, 1140 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette.
The Winnetka Public Library welcomed nine children on the afternoon of Sept. 13 to participate in crafts and activities relating to books authored by British novelist Roald Dahl. Dahl was made famous by books like "Matilda," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "James and the Giant Peach" and "The Witches," among many others.
Sailboats race across the water as their crew mans the sails from shore. More than 10 model sailboats, controlled by the Chicago Radio Controlled Sailing Club, skimmed through the lake at the Chicago Botanic Garden Sept. 7 for Model Sailboat Sunday hosted by the garden.
